A rehabilitation center is not a dark place, but rather the starting point for the recovery journey of those who have once fallen.
The No. 2 Drug Rehabilitation Center is located in Dai Thang Commune, Tien Lang District, Hai Phong City. Established in 2003, the center now operates under the Ministry of Public Security and is managed by the people’s public security force. It specializes in receiving, treating, and supporting individuals recovering from drug addiction both during and after the rehabilitation process.

Guiding learners through recovery
Ms. Ca, the rehabilitation center’s manager, shared: “All essential parts of the recovery process must include: withdrawal symptoms management, therapy, counseling, and labor activities.”
Though the medical and psychological treatments can be long and uncomfortable, teachers and mentors are always beside the learners so they are never alone. The closeness and commitment of the staff play an important role in the effectiveness of drug rehabilitation and the comprehensive recovery of the learners.
Not the ‘manager – addict’ form of address, they become teachers and mentors, guiding their students on the path of recovery. With a strong sense of responsibility and deep dedication, they not only supervise but also care for, instruct, and counsel for psychological problems to each individual.

Not an end, but a new beginning
Many people associate the word "rehab" with something grim and frightening. However, the reality at many rehabilitation centers reveals a different perspective. At these centers, individuals who once made mistakes are now striving to recover, overcoming cravings every day and gradually rebuilding a more stable, and meaningful life within the community. Life at rehab centers is not just about adjusting to a new lifestyle, but also about developing discipline and adopting a more structured and scientific life.

Through continuous learning and training, many learners gradually come to recognize their self-worth and the meaning of life. Their path back to themselves becomes clearer day by day.
“Outside, our routines were messy and undisciplined. But here, everything follows structure and order. Meals, rest, and sleep are all on schedule, ensuring proper recovery. Physical health improves too, thanks to regular sports activities,” one learner shared.

At the center, every learner follows a strict daily schedule: mornings begin with breakfast and exercise; the day continues with therapeutic labor, followed by rest at noon; afternoons include work and physical activities, and the day ends with designated bedtime hours. This steady routine not only stabilizes their physical and mental health, but also rebuilds disciplined habits.

Through this learning and discipline process in the rehabilitation center, many learners develop healthier lifestyles, rediscover their personal values, and get closer to reclaiming themselves.
Drug rehabilitation centers, including The No. 2 Drug Rehabilitation Center, are increasingly playing a vital role in supporting, guiding, and giving individuals who have made mistakes the opportunity to rebuild their lives. Through treatment programs, education, and personality rehabilitation, they find themselves again and come to understand the true value of life.
No one is born wanting to go the wrong way. Drug addiction is a serious problem in society that should be viewed objectively. We should not generalize or stigmatize all those who have been or are addicted. Because many of them truly wish to turn their lives around and deserve a second chance. Finally, prevention is always more effective than cure. Raising awareness and staying away from drugs are the most practical ways to protect both oneself and the community.
